Day 3 in Bali – Welcome to Ubud

It has been just over two months since my return from Bali, and am still surprised and proud of myself for going solo. I am going to finish the Bali series soon, so that I can focus on other things as well. In just under a week, I’ll be flying out again to do some volunteering (read about it here.) Truth is, even though time moves fast, I still think a lot about my time in Bali a lot – even if some of the memories tries to fade.

6 summer TV shows to suit every taste

The past couple of months, I’ve been raving about how great TV land has been doing with so many upcoming TV shows and great currently airing shows (check this, this and this). So, I thought it was about time that shared a little bit more on what those shows currently are. In no particular order, I’ve compiled a list of the top 6 currently airing British Summertime shows that will surely suit all tastes and interests. So in no particular order, here we go:

A Handmaid’s Tale: A sad Tale

Green is for the wives. Dark green is for the aunts. Grey is for the maids. And red is for is for the handmaids. In the unfortunate world of the handmaids, women have lost about every right in book, from the right to be educated & read to freedom of choice. In the dystopian world of the 1985 novel of the same name, women have limited choices; obedience or death. At times, everything felt archaic.

End of June Playlist : Black Girl Magic

The June playlist was going to be extremely different, but as we haven’t had a lot of sun the past week or two, I thought I should write post a slightly different one.

All girls are magic, but there is a special kind of magic to black girls.

Watch Insecure Season 2 Teaser

Summer is heating up, both in temperature and in schedule. In TV land there’s a big list of potential big hits and returning hits, this summer.  Orange is the new black’s latest season was released earlier this month. Later this month Power and Preacher will be on TV screens. So, yes, summer is sure to heat up our TV (and laptop) screens.

Day 2 in Bali – Red and white monkeys dancing

Looking back, the freedom to travel and do what I wanted was great. Just as I stated in my previous post, I wasn’t restrained to another person’s opinion.

Not all who wonder are lost –  J.R.R. Tolkien

Like the previous day, I arranged my day at the start of the day. After a day of exploring little ol’ Seminyak, I thought it was about time to explore another town on the island of Bali. After spending some time researching, I decided it was time to head further south of island, farther than Kuta.

Excited about Marvel’s Black Pather

Oh my gosh, Oh my days. Have any of you seen this? Is this real? I think I had a full fanboy moment when I saw this. Like for real. If your read my previous post, you’ll probably know that I’m a big fan of the superhero sci-fi/fantasy genre. However, Black Panther is on a whole other level, for many reasons.

Day 1 in Bali – Seminyak

It’s nearly been a week since I returned from Bali, and boy do I miss it. I miss the people, the friends I made, and most importantly, the food. Following this post, I’ll add a few more to a the series of A Day in Bali, where I’ll point out my daily itinerary, and end the series with a guide to Bali for future visitors.

Early Summer 2017 playlist

So spring is coming to an end, if it’s not already finished, and summer is being welcomed. For us Brits, it means we have 5% more chance of not having rain. And occasionally there’ll be some of sun, here and there. To be honest, this week’s weather has been great, and the focus says that this bank holiday weekend is going to great as well.
