Ukraine Volunteering – Photo diary

I had a great time when I was volunteering in Ukraine. When I posed of my time in Ukraine, I think it was very clear I had a good time. I volunteered with kids to enhance their English skills, particularity, conversational English. What made the experience so memorable was the fact that it wasn’t just lessons, or lectures. It was fully immersive and interactive. On to of that I was able to explore many different areas of Ukraine, from big cities like Kiev to smaller rural towns.

The Summer I spent in Ukraine

Home away from Home

I’ve always thought that the home was special. It is a sacred place. This is the same in many cultures across the globe. In the home, you are at your best, yet the most fragile. When I got the news that I will be staying with a host family in Ukraine, I must admit, I was a bit scared. Travelling to a strange land was one thing, but to also stay with strangers, was a whole other thing.

Short Story: Cabin

It was like any other cold summer’s night. It was at that time between dusk and dawn, far after the sun had set. We went to the cabin like any other time. How I wished it was like any other time. How I wish that my brain didn’t try to delude me from the truth – its own way of easing the pain. I’m not really sure if it’s pain that I feel anymore, more of a lack of it; a numbing sensation, an emptiness.

With that said, it means that there’s a bunch of back to school sales and end of summer holidays events for teachers and students alike. Game of thrones: the not so long winter

Game of thrones (GOT) season 7 recently came to an end, so let start by clearly stating I am pissed. I am P I S S ED. We waited 6 seasons for winter to come and first glimpse of it was only provided us with 7 episodes. We watched 53 episodes, approximately 2915 hours, and that is not even including those that have read the books.  Apparently the next season is even less.

Bonds made for a short time, are the purest.

Changing

We are constantly moving, changing, shifting from one shape into another. Morphing ourselves and the world around us to fit the image which we wish. It is a constant flow. Rarely do we take time to be still, stagnant, the opposite of movement, immobile, incapable of movement. Yet, stillness does not mean we are still. Our cells, bodies and minds vibrates at frequencies …
